Abijata Shala Lakes National Park
Tthe Rift Valley Lakes National Park, about 215km south of Addis Ababa, is Birds paradise. As would be expected in a park surrounding two Rift Valley Lakes, waterbirds predominate. However, different species of birds have been recorded here, including large numbers of Great White Pelicans, Greater and Lesser Flamingos, and Sacred Ibis. The forests are especially good for seeing unusual weavers and turacos.

A town located in the southern part of the Riftvally. 505 kms far from the capital. Nechisar National Park , Crocodile market, Abaya, & chamo Lakes are clothed to this town.
 
Awash National park  
Bordered by the Awash River , and some 225km east of Addis Ababa . 700 sq.km of park encompass the 1800m high semi-dormant Fantalle Volcano, as well as an extensive area of hot springs , and great tracts of Savannah . Plenty of bird species have been recorded here, as well as great herds of plain game (except Giraffe and Buffalo ). Different species of animals have been identified here including Beisa Oryx ad Swayne’s Hartebeest. A special attraction is the beautiful clear pools of the Filwoha Hot Springs.
 
Awassa
A town to the south 275kms away from the capital. Lake Awassa laid adjacent to the town, its home for the Sidama people. pic
 
Axum
A town located to the north about 1024kms far from the capital, Ethiopia ’s most ancient city, and capital of one of the most glorious empires of the past, is one of the most illustrious links in the Historic Route . The Axumite Empire flourished 3000years ago. Its riches can still be pictured as you gaze on the magnificent stele or obelisks, the graves of King Kaleb and King Geebre Meskal, and the legendary Bath of the Queen of Sheba. The 16th century Cathedral of St. Mary of Zion was probably built on an earlier 4th century church, and is the holiest church in Ethiopia . In its sanctuary is said to rest the original Ark of the Covenant. The churches and monasteries of Axum house are richly endowed with icons, and some of the historical crowns of ancient emperors.
   
BaharDar    
565kms to the northwest of the capital. It is a small town set on the southeastern shore of Lake Tana ( Ethiopia ’s largest lake), where local fishermen still us papyrus boats, and just 35km from the spectacular "Tissisat" fall. Here the Blue Nile creates ‘smoking water’; an awe-inspiring sight as it plunges into the gorge
 
Bale Mountains national park    
"Tullu Deemto" (4377m), the highest peak in Southern Ethiopia , while the southern area is mountain forest. The vast moorlands of the park on a high plateau are home to most of our population of Simien Fox. The virgin woodlands, and mountain streams, with an almost alpine climate, make this national park one of the most beautiful in Ethiopia . Also protected here are the Mountain Nyala and Menelik’s Bushbuck. The rivers are well stocked with both brown and rainbow trout, just ready for the fisherman. Its home for a plenty of wild animals and birds.
 
DebreLibanos
A monastery just 110kms to the north of the capital, where birds and beautiful landscapes can be seen.
 
DireDawa    
The main, but more modern town of Dire Dawa , was the creation of the Djibouti/Addis railway. This important engineering achievement, developed at the end of the 19th century, has played a major part in Ethiopia ’s development. Born as a terminal for the railway. The town has expanded as a major trading and commercial center. 54 km form Harar.
 
Gambella
778kms from the capital found on the western-bordered part of the country a warmer region. Clothed to the Gambella national park and home for Anuak, Mesunger and, Nuer.
 
Gondar
A historic town 748kms to the north. It was the 17th century capital of Ethiopia , and is notable for its medieval castles and churches. The city’s unique imperial compound contains a number of castles built between 1632-1855 by the various Emperors who reigned during this period. These dramatic castles, unlike any other in Africa , display richness in architecture that reveals the Axumite traditions as well as the influence of Arabia . Other treasures of Gondar include the 18th century palace of Ras Beit , the Bath of Fasiladas, the ruined palace of Kusquam , and the church of Debre Berhan Selassie with its unique murals.
 
Harar
It is an Ancient City (1520) and Holy City . Always an important trading center, the city is famous for its ancient buildings, its great city walls, and as a center of learning and Muslim scholarship (the town has 99 mosques). The city is well known for its superb handicrafts that include woven textiles, basketware, silverware and handsomely bound books, and Harar has been a place of pilgrimage from all over the world for many years.
 
Hossaina
A town home for the kembata and hadiya tribes. It is 275kms far from the capital; the historic sites of Adadimariam, Tiya, and Melkakunture are located along this route.
 
Jimma
The residence town of the last Oromo king Abajufar.from1882-1886 and it is still one of the Oromo peoples cultures center. Beyond the natural attractions around Jimma the routs leading to it is attractive.
 
Lalibella
 
King Lalibella is credited with the foundation of the 11 rock-hewn churches in the 12th century. One of the world’s most incredible man-made creations, they are a lasting monument to man’s faith in God. These remarkable edifices were carved out of the solid rock, in a region where the rugged landscape still protects the churches from mass tourism. The 11 main churches are found in and around the town of Lalibella . It is one of the WONDERS by UNESCO.
 
Langano    
With its hotels and camping sites are a popular resort is for residents from Addis Ababa . Swimming, sailing or simply sunbathing is perfect here. This lake also has its own bird life, and you may see the rare Hemprich’s Hornbill.
 
Mago National Park    
In the South of Ethiopia, almost on the Kenyan border, the national park is 770km south-west of Addis Ababa along the east bank of the Omo river. 2162-sq.km in area, the park was created to conserve a habitat for the large herds of plain game that roam here. It is particularly renown for its herds of Elephant, Buffalo and Giraffe, but amongst the different species of mammal recorded can be seen Topi and Swayne’s Hartebeest as well as Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Burchell’s Zebra, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx and Greater and Lesser Kudu.
 
Menagesha Supa
Natural and man made forest reserve area about 50kms away from the capital. The presence of guesthouse makes it suitable for weekenders from the capital.
 
Nechasar National Park
Lies 505km South of Addis Ababa, on the eastern shores of Lakes Abaya and Chamo. Established as a sanctuary for the endangered Swayne’s Hartebeest, the lakeshores and wild tracts of woodland and lush vegetation provide a haven for numerous species of birds.
 
Omo National Park  
One of the most beautiful national parks in Ethiopia , its 4068sq.km of wilderness bordered by the Omo River , is the home to an amazing range of wildlife. plenty species of birds have been identified here, while large herds of Eland, Buffalo , and Elephant are not uncommon.
 
Semien Mountains National Park
The Simien Mountain Massif is a broad plateau, cut off to the north and west by a 60km escarpment. Great gullies and gorges split the plateau, while old volcanic plugs break up the skyline. In this spectacular splendor can be found Walia Ibex, Simien Fox and Gelada Baboon. The park is 120km north of Gondar , and has been adopted by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.
 
Sodere
A resort area only 120kms far the east from the capital, it is the place where in the natural hot water swimming and hydrotherapy is possible with modern accommodation.
 
Sof Omar
120km east from Goba is one of the most spectacular and extensive cave systems in the world. Created by the Weyb River in the limestone rock, the caves are an extraordinary natural phenomenon and a place of breathtaking beauty. Great caverns have been carved out of the rock creating soaring underground chambers. The caves, now an important Islamic shrines, can be visited with local guides.
 
Wendo Genet
To the southern Riftvally rout around 275kms the magnificent resort area of Wondo genet is found with the beautiful scenery, hot spring and natural forests make it preferable tourist destination.
