A new numbering plan has been implemented in Djibouti from March 1, 2012. The new numbering plan involves adding prefix before the usual landline and mobile numbers.
For example,

- add 21 before the usual 6 digits for fixed line in Djibouti and Balbala, |

- add 27 before the usual 6 digits for fixed line outside of Djibouti and Balbala, |
| |
- add 77 before the usual 6 digits for mobile numbers, |
ethio telecom would like to notify its customers to use the above prefixes before fixed and mobile numbers for any call made to/from Djibouti as of March 1, 2012. |
