Ethio telecom wins International Awards at the European Business Assembly forum
Ethio telecom has won international awards in two categories granted by the European Business Assembly at an event held in London on March 23, 2008. The award is a recognition of the mega efforts made in the past few years to reach millions of new customers and avail telecom services in all parts of the nation.
Ethio telecom’s Chief Executive Officer, Ato Andualem Admassie, attended the European Business Assembly forum, and received the awards on behalf of himself and ethio telecom. The European Business Assembly forum is an interactive platform for international collaboration which is attended by businessmen, financiers, diplomats, and leaders of chambers of commerce, business associations and business and professional unions from more than 60 countries.
On the occasion, Ato Andualem Admassie is honoured with two prestigious awards. He first received the 'United Europe Award' in recognition of the company's contribution to the development of international integration.
The main award criteria for this award include:-
- International relations development
- Support of region promotion and social projects
- Presence in different international and regional organizations and networks
- Effective international economic activities
The second award he received is the 'International Socrates Award' in recognition of the intellectual development of the society.

- Professional experience and achievements
- Global influence to the social and economic progress
On the occasion, Ato Andualem explained his company’s commitment towards meeting its mission of availing better telecom services to all Ethiopians and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for being selected as an award winner in two categories. He further said that, this award will serve as a recognition by an international body for all the hard work and effort made to deliver better telecom service to all the citizens of the country
